Under the Wildlife Acts, hedges can be cut up until 1st March. Landowers are responsible for maintenance of hedges on their lands which encroach on to roads. Under the Roads Act 1993 it is the responsibility of landowners to ensure trees, shrubs and hedges do not cause hazards or obstruction. Hedge Cutting services can be made available on the island if there are sufficient expressions of interest in the service from landowners.
